"When Will We Find the Extraterrestrials?" by Dr. Shostak of SETI
Broadcast from Grand Valley State University, this program was a LIVE AFM*Special on March 15th. (It was a GREAT presentation!) Did you miss the show? We have three ways you can find out if the truth is, actually, out there!
Plan #1a: You can still catch the encore broadcasts on AFM*Radio, on March 16th at 0300, 0700, 1100, 1500, 1900, and 2300 UTC.
Plan #1b: If you're listening to the broadcast, you may want to see the visuals that go with the show: PPT (Powerpoint) version PDF (Portable Doc) version
Plan #2: Or, enjoy the complete synchronized archive of the show (audio + video), on Adobe Connect!
Plan #3: This program will be available on Astronomy.FM's website, coming soon!
Dr. Shostak is the senior astronomer at the SETI (Search for
Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute and hosts SETI's weekly radio
program "Are We Alone?" (which airs on AFM*Radio every Saturday - see the schedule for your local broadcast time) as well as a monthly problem called "Skeptical
Sunday" which focuses on debunking pseudo-science (including U.F.O
claims). He is often compared to the late Carl Sagan and has received
the Klumpke-Roberts Award of the Astronomical Society in recognition of
his outstanding achievements to public understanding and appreciation of
astronomy.
Thanks for listening to a Universe of possibilities, on Astronomy.FM!
