In March 1610, Galileo Galilei published a booklet named "Sidereus Nuncius" ("Starry Messenger") in which he described the observations he had made with a brand-new invention - the telescope!  Galileo was a true "Renaissance man", whose research topics included the solar system, tides, buoyancy, and the physics of moving objects.

Join us on Sunday afternoon March 21 at 2 pm EDT (1800 UT), when Sky Safari travels  back four centuries to meet "Galileo - Father of Modern Astronomy".
