2010 AFM*Radio Programs

AFM*Radio Schedule

 The New Weekly Lineup
 
Mondays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Sundays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "The AFM*Showcase" - DeepSkyDivas, Kochava's Sky Safari, ASFOS and more; all of which are AFM*Radio Original Programs. January 4 will feature the DeepSkyDivas; January 10 will feature Kochava's Sky Safari; check the AFM*Radio page for the latest "The AFM*Showcase" schedule.

Hour 2 "Keck's Mauna Kea Lecture Series" - where astronomers share recent discoveries and news from the W. M. Keck Observatory at Mauna Kea, Hawaii.
  Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
 
Tuesdays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Mondays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "Live! From York U" - an AFM*Radio Original Program, in partnership with York University of Toronto, Canada - offering live views of the Universe from their observatory (when weather permits). NOTE: This live program will occur an hour later than last season to catch darker skies and better viewing.

Hour 2 "Space Pirate Radio" - an AFM*Radio Original Program- featuring our own Capn's Marty Kunz and Marleen Bryan who look forward to your live call-in, Twitter or chat questions. NOTE: This live program will occur an hour later than last season to allow better observing from York University's Observatory.

Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with occasional short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
 
Wednesdays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Tuesdays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "Astronomy Out & About" - an AFM*Radio Original Program with Jeff & Becca Setzer, focuses on sharing the astronomy experience with others. Ask questions and join the discussion in the AFM Chat Room.

Hour 2 "Skepticality" - bringing you relevant, under reported current events, as well as in-depth discussions from a scientific, critical, skeptical, and humorous point of view.

Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with occasional short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
 
Thursdays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Wednesdays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "The SkyGuide"- an AFM*Radio Original Program, hosted by Michael Foerster, brings us up to date on current science and astronomy news live each week and takes your questions in the chat room.

Hour 2 Weekly update from "Scientific American," the magazine that has been presenting news on developments in science and technology for more than 160 years.

Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with occasional short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
 
Fridays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Thursdays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "The AFM*AstroClass!" - live or recorded interviews with prominent astronomers and other scientists; you are sure to learn something new! Check the AFM*Radio schedule for each week's topic.

Hour 2 "The Naked Scientists" - a media-savvy group of researchers from Cambridge University, as they interview scientists from around the world.

Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with occasional short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
 
Saturdays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Fridays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "The Event^Horizon" - an AFM*Radio Original Program with hosts Michael Narlock and Marty Kunz, will pull you into their irreverent, cosmic conversations.

Hour 2 "Planetary Radio" - broadcast by the Planetary Society, the largest independent, nonprofit, nongovernmental space advocacy group on Earth.

Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with occasional short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
 
Sundays starting at 0200UT (9 pm Saturdays US Eastern) and repeating every 3 hours

Hour 1 "WNMC's First*Light" - hosted by Michael Foerster, is a weekly look at the intersection of science and society, courtesy of Michigan Public Broadcasting's WNMC.

Hour 2 "Are We Alone?" - The weekly radio broadcast from the SETI (Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence) Institute.

Hour 3 The NightWatch! - an hour of music intermixed with occasional short programs and tidbits. You'll never know what you'll hear (or miss if you're not listening!)
