It is supported by hundreds of scientists & scientific institutions, enabling Earthsky to cover the entire range of scientific endeavor, including life, earth, and physical sciences. Earthsky has been produced since 1991. On November 4, 2011, after twenty years of successful science communication, Deborah Byrd, the founder and president of Earthsky, received the Arts & Sciences Advocacy Award from the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences.
