Comet 17P Holmes and Mirphak


Comet 17P Holmes in Ion.html" target="_blank">ConjunctIon with Mirphak. The expanding Coma masks the nucleus during the 2008 outburst.

Shot in December 2008.
Processing was conducted differently to the nucleus and the Crown.
Telescope: Newton Skywatcher 250mm f 4.8, Baader Coma corrector
Camera: Canon 350D unmodified
Mount: Eq6 Pro
Guide: Manual guide refractor 70/900 mm
Exposure: 5 X 9 min ; 800 ISO
